Far From Home

Many of you knew that Dennis was in a country rock band in Germany... Follow this link to see the band's tribute to him:

Thank-you Far From Home, you were all very special to him. Thank-you for being his "family", for caring for and loving him while he was in Germany... far from home.

It was very moving to see your tribute to Dennis on your home page. From your individual comments on the blog and your comments on your website, it's clear that you loved and cherished the time you spent with Dennis, as he did the time he spent with you.

As I'm sure you can imagine, many people have reminisced about the messages we received from Dennis while he was in Munich, and one thing that comes up over and over is the video of him playing and singing on "Keep Your Hands to Yourself." Is there a link to that video either on your website or on YouTube anywhere (or does anyone else have one)?

You can hear an audio clip of "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" if you go to the Far From Home tribute page and click on "2005". It takes you to the archived pages where you can see photos of Dennis with the band. If you click on the "sounds" tab, you can find the link for "Hands to Yourself" there.

It did this mourner some good over here to hear him sing again. :)

God Bless.

Sorry for not answering sooner. Robert, my husband, has the original recording of the video and is already searching for it. We will place it on You Tube. As soon as we find it we will let you know about the link, I promise.

I would like to use the opportunity to share some precious memory with all of you:
There was this one gig we had in a pub called "Little Banjo". It was on November 25, 2006 - the next to last gig in Germany for Dennis. He was already on heavy chemo treatment at that time. He kept coming to rehearsals whenever he had enough energy just to spend some time with us. So, at that pub, we were having a good time that night, the crowd was nice and Dennis was giving his best. He was wearing a cowboy hat, leaning on a bar stool (because of his weakness) and singing HIS SONG. We just loved it each time he sang the song. It was made for his voice and he sang it at least as good as the original singer does, and the crowd loved it, too. Up to today - and I guess the feeling will never change again - the song is in our heads still Dennis' song and even though Michelle took over everyone of us remembers Dennis in it!

I will be back as soon as I receive information of the link.

God Bless.
Marija

Dear family and friends of Dennis!

Robert has prepared the link on our Far From Home Homepage. The direct link is http://www.farfromhome-music.com/2006/index.html
If the link does not work you can just go to our page "www.farfromhome-music.com" and then either click on Dennis' picture or go directly to the year 2006. The video will be uploaded immediately. It was our very first gig on such a huge stage, during the First Country Music Fair on November 25, 2006.
It is so good to hear Dennis' voice and watch him play his bass. He really enjoyed it.
You can also watch him sing "his" song "Keep your hands to yourself" if you go further to http://www.farfromhome-music.com/2006/de/Sounds.html or click on the American flag beneath the recording and then go to "Sounds": the video will load up and you will be able to watch Dennis in a pub called "Four Corners" on July 2, 2006.
Let's keep him alive in our hearts.
RIP Dennis, we luv u!

God bless!
Marija and Robert

That's outstanding! How can we in the states get a Far From Home t-shirt?

Dear Jason,

You could either go to our Far From Home Homepage, click on the American flag at the bottom of the first page and find the contact dates there or you could just send your request directly to Stephan, the manager of FFH at "info@farfromhome-music.com".

I am sorry I spelled Stefan wrong, it is written with an "f" instead of "ph". Thank you.
